Alberta Wetland Workshop (2 Hours)

We are not booking outreach for the forseeable future due to sanitation and health concerns related to COVID-19.

We are excited to present an all new 2 hour program focused on conservation and education regarding one of Canada's most complex, fertile and diverse regions... the WETLANDS!

Join us to explore the incredible diversity in Alberta's back yard! Our wetlands are a critical habitat for countless species including reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, as well as larger mammals, birds and migrants. Learn about the ecology of a wetland, discover the vast diversity in a even a liter of swamp water, and get up-close and personal with some of the most charismatic of our aquatic and semi-aquatic inhabitants. We'll be focusing and featuring charismatic, critical wildlife with examples of native reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. This is a high-impact class and a great way to identify with and care about a very misunderstood aspect of our natural world. This workshop is seasonal (available from the last week of May into the first week of June).

Classroom Presentations are availiable for WEEK DAYS only. For information on booking presentations for evenings and weekends, or for Birthday Parties, please contact our office directly.

Curriculum Programming: specifically designed for Grade 5 "Wetland Ecosystems," but also appropriate for Grade 7 "Interactions and Ecosystems," Grade 8 "Freshwater and Saltwater Systems," and "Forestry and Conservation programs outside of school.
